Root Canal Cleaning or Root Canal Treatment is a treatment procedure for patients whose condition of tooth decay is initial and the infection in the teeth has invaded the root canal, where there is a network of nerves and blood vessels which, if left untreated, will be dangerous for one's health. Because the infection was so severe, the patient had to undergo a root canal cleansing treatment by removing the infected pulp, after which the root canal was filled and closed again with the filling.

For those of you who are planning to do root canal treatment, there may be feelings of fear and worry that the cleaning procedure is painful. Or maybe those of you who have just had canal treatment and are wondering why you actually feel pain after the root canal is cleaned.

The main purpose of root canal cleaning is of course to stop the infection on your teeth and also to relieve pain due to the pain that has been feeling due to an infection that attacks the tooth nerves. However, is root canal treatment really painful?

Pain After Root Canal Treatment Is Actually Normal

What you definitely need to know is that every time you want to carry out a procedure, the dentist will inject painkillers so that you don't feel anything while the cleaning is being done. Well, after the root canal cleaning procedure is carried out, a few hours later the anesthesia will gradually stop working so that the pain from the cleaning process will start to feel. You don't really need to be afraid of pain after root canal cleansing is normal, and usually the dentist will also give you pain medication to relieve pain after cleansing.

As long as the pain persists, which usually goes away after 3 days, you should avoid consuming hard foods and hot or cold drinks that can increase the sensitivity of your unrecovered teeth.

Then what if the pain persists more than 3 days after the cleaning procedure?

If this happens, of course you should immediately have your teeth checked again. The pain that doesn't go away after root canal treatment can be due to poor cleaning or the condition of your teeth so badly that it is better to extract the tooth. But you don't need to worry or be afraid because while the procedure is carried out by an expert, your teeth will definitely improve as before, of course if you are also committed to maintaining the health of your teeth and not delaying getting treatment to the dentist immediately.
